The story it self is an urban legend traceable way before the donut video! So he both states the plot is someone else original story, but because it’s an urban legend there’s no specific person to credit, and he is entitled to credit himself for the story writing for the screenplay! Do you see how it works? It’s not about others (that don’t care), it’s about that this guy earns (a lot) of money with ideas of other people and I bet he is fully aware of it but still isn’t giving them a ‘fair share’ of it. Can’t we just take the message as it was meant, and let some good come out of it. It doesn’t matter where when or who started it just spread the good. Just saying ‘it’s an old story…’ without mentioning a name, makes believe (especially people that hear it for the first time) that it’s his own story. Leaving out names, is also protection, so it’s serving (only) this guy all the way, that’s how it really works. Hopefully my reaction cleared it up for you (although I think you’re a smartass so already knew). No offence  Why must people turn a good thing/the true moral of the story, into something negative. So what it’s been presented before!!! So what it was donuts in the previous rendition!!! The sharing of a thought provoking message is a positive thing.
