Racism refers to systemic oppression of an entire race, and that obviously can’t be said about whites in america.

I know all white people aren’t racist …just like I know all black people aren’t thugs and gang members. But I do know my reality on how I walk through life as a Black woman in America I know the struggles I face everyday simply because I am black . I know my experiences… Once upon a time I was sweet and innocent then I started working as a nurse shirt As a society we have to do better and treat one another with kindness before making judgments on a person based on their skin. I get what you’re saying, but I’m not one to ignore much.. I’m a very observant, analytical, & outspoken person for human rights & social justice issues, & actually.. very political. The people & friends I associate with, would also not hesitate to “call me out” or correct me, if my attitude or speech were to somehow offend anyone, or any group or class of people.

unless they are poor or from a single parent family or from a violent family (or all of these ) then they do experience institutional oppression/marginalisation. I know this from experience. Having said that, I think that these are layers of oppression and what I haven’t experienced is the layer of racial oppression or marginalisation because of my skin colour (even tho I was called and treated as ‘white trash’ Many white people dont see that there is such a thing as racism beyond the super obvious, white hooded, cross burning type. Yes, calling black people the N-word behind their backs, like the subject today spoke of, indicates a level of racism. And it can be even more subtle than that. There’s a whole spectrum of beliefs and behaviors. Never hurts to do some introspection.
