Awesome lady and a great athlete! And clearly stupid & outdated concept about health care professionals’ attire. I do not use the word “nurse” deliberately Behind every great nurse there is a running CNA shirt because it does not reflect the role and high importance of this profession. We have retired the word “stewardess”; it is time to retire “nurse”.
Behind every great nurse there is a running CNA shirt
Well apparently you didn’t read a dam thing. You have to wear a dress for specifications. Scrubs are used for the exact record for being a doctor. They have millions of records so yeah, you have to meet specifics. This is not about the fact that nurses mainly wear scrubs now. This is about what the current record holder wore. In order to break that specific record, the new record holder would have to wear the same thing! Period! Or she could’ve signed up for a new record for a nurse wearing scrubs. This is discrimination and racists for sure. Behind every great nurse there is a running CNA shirt Nurses work in the preoperative care wear scrubs daily for infection control purpose; being a scrub nurse for years I haven worn skirt type of nurse uniform for ages. She was trying to get into the Guinness book of world records and they have very strict guidelines on what qualifies. She decided to wear what she wanted so her run doesnt qualify. They dont care what she wears to her actual job, only what she wears for inclusion as a world record holder.
Take these awesome items and be cool
how is this discrimination or racists? This last winner (a white woman same as this runner) won the record in a dress. Plus this was not held in a preoperative care unit so no more of a threat of infection then someone running in shorts. It’s a shame and pity that nurse uniform is described and classified as a blue or white dress with pinafore apron and white cape by this kind of phenomenal record body. It’s not about those amazing women are white or black, colour doesn’t matter. This kind of rules with narrow mind should be amended, it’s 20 century. she’d be disqualified, then that’s on her.
If you want to protest the out-of-date rules, awesome. Do it BEFORE the race. Blast them on social media when the rules come out. Or, compete in the scrubs anyway, AS a form of protest. Civil Disobedience is protesting an unjust rule, but ACCEPTING the consequences. Thoreau didn’t wine and cry about his consequences; he accepted them fully and PROUDLY. Yeah – the rule IS sexist and grossly outdated. But that should have been addressed PRIOR to the race – not whining and crying that life isn’t fair
