My mother in law acted like my husband was her man.She was. Very jealous to the point she would call his phone and ask him why he missed a day coming to see her.My husband had to tell her he is her son not her man.She felt he love me more than her. Not realizing their love is a special love i will never have and she cant give him what i can as his wife. Long story short i dont call her my mother in law she is just his mom and My favorite sailor calls me mom shirt I stopped years ago trying to be that. I lived with my mother in law for four years and it was always drama to the point of her slapping me… I had just about gotten enough and as much as the African culture says to respect her as my own mum,I had just gotten enough and I slapped the daylight out of her and left it’s all good. My husband’s mom wasn’t too bad. I mean she accepted that I was her daughter in law and was genuinely excited to find out I was pregnant. But sadly she passed almost a year ago. She didn’t get to meet my darling daughter. My husband’s father got married 2 months later to my brother in law’s ex wife (yes you read that right) John is his dad and yes he has. All his dad does is change the subject and ask if my stepson ask about him. He has been to our house and my parents house (always stays outside) since our daughter was born and still didn’t ask to see her or nothing. But as you said it is his loss.
