I have an excellent viewing setup, with calibrated settings, and for a lot of it, it was too dark and/or too smoky. It’s a technique they use that I call “cheating the action”. Game of thrones air arya stark shirt If you have any concern that special effects may pull someone out of the experience (for example the horrible Bruce Banner in Hulkbuster effect in “Infinity War” wherein he pops the top and cheers)

then you “cheat the action” with weather effects, be it rain or snow, or in this case smoke/snow. The show was amazing, if a little opaque, and I loved it, but let’s not ignore the elephant in the room. Wasn’t my experience. My eyes were peeled but never felt deprived of imagery. That being said, knowing you and your likely setup, I understand how anything short of a dark room with true HDR or at least a screen with great contrast and low ghosting can make the viewing strained. Game of thrones air arya stark shirt I say keep the form of the art and let the viewer catch up. I would have been dissatisfied with another, clear-as-day, battle sequence given that those already exist in abundance in the show. Agreed. The only thing that really frustrated me was the lack of clarity during the “air battle” between the dragons, But it was intended to make us experience what Dany and Jon were feeling while looking for the Night King on the wing.
Damn, I’m ready to go watch it again right now. Good stuff. I mean I don’t care? I appreciate the fact that a battle at night would be incredibly dark and chaotic and scary for everyone involved. But it seems a little silly to spend that much money on an episode that most people would need to adjust their tv settings to even see properly. Yes we could. We loved it. So sick of people reporting about this. Can you find a different fucking angle, instead of going for what everyone else is? There was an hour and a half of tv show, and all you can report on is the whines and pines of people on the internet who complain for the sake of complaining; these are the same people who walk out of End Game saying ‘pfft, 6/10, was okay’. How about, instead of going with the trends, you invoke your sense of objectivity as a journalist, instead of being a fucking tabloid.
