I wish I was bilingual. But other languages seem beyond me. And of course, being American the rest of the world learns English, and we act as if it’s to be expected. I really am ashamed to be a White American and appalled when even I find myself being racist. It’s amazing what sticks from childhood, movies, stories….life in general. I’m the artist of this comic and I’ve been blown away by the response it’s gotten. It’s amazing to see it spread all over and make people talk about the racism experienced by migrants of color, When a louisiana girl say what it’s not because she didn’t here you shirt but I’ve seen this reposted on many pages without notifying or crediting me, which makes me sad cause I want to be part of the conversations my work starts. I was wondering if you could credit me here and elsewhere you posted this, and reach out to artists whose work you use in the future. I can tell you that it actually happens. Back in my country I worked in customer service for companies here in the United States and those comments were my daily bread, here I’ve gotten those too… Sometimes they do harmful comments so I just tell them “Stfu I speak more than one language” (English, Spanish and almost finish with Portuguese) I’m so sorry. Truly, people can be cruel. I’ll be your friend! I’m always amazed by people speaking outside their native toung , as I know exactly 1 language. I took French for 3 years and got all ” D’s”. Actually English is not my native language but I speak it very fluently but the kind of racism I am talking about is about the skin color I am a black African living in an arab country everyone keeps telling me you are beautiful but black hahahah I don’t care I love my melanin anyways
