A lot of ppl will not keep the helmets on. Sometimes u just can’t stop them from hurting themselves. I worked with a guy that would punch himself in the chest and slap his ear. The more u tried to intervene the more he would do it. He was on ativan 4 times a day and it still didn’t make a difference most days. The soft helmet might not help stop the self harm. She would just be hitting something else and if she did there is still potential to hurt herself even if it is softer. I work with special needs and everyone doesn’t keep the helmet on ! I’m glad they have found something that works for her ! How else is she supposed to live ?? It’s not always that simple. She’s clearly big enough to refuse sitting still long enough to put a helmet on and she’s only enough to know how to remove it
