It’s so true. I always had this question in me making me feel like most people are hypocrites. Unicorn yeah I’m weird wonderful exciting interesting real different shirt It’s very rare for someone to love a person unconditionally coz it’s not impossible either. Now include this with safe spaces, time outs and participation trophies and you will really have a useless human being

This is so ridiculous. I think most parents who choose to have children(not accidental, unwanted births), definitely love their children unconditionally. If wanting a better life for your child and thus guiding them in their pursuit of happiness is defined as ” parents making everything about their child to be about themselves” then may be we have reached a point to not have kids any more. I have 3 kids and I do not remember a day Unicorn yeah I’m weird wonderful exciting interesting real different shirt when I told my kid that they need to be “somebody” by societal standards for me to respect them or think of them as being successful. This is not to say that there aren’t parents who may push their children and try to live vicariously through their kids, but my generation definitely is better equipped with being accepting of their childs interests. Ability is over rated. Most people who pursue and achieve their goals, do it through hard work and grit, with or without parental support.
Welcome to the new collection in here
it is beautiful to read this and I add you that often parents blame each other causing a relationship breakdown if they don’t project onto the child. After 10 years of of working in the field and also experiencing some wonderful families it has been difficult for me to experience some shit projected on children/adults who did not make certain choices and are beautiful regardless of challenges experienced. High achievers may be guilty of this, but the average parent loves their child for who they are? If you doubt this, just look at the parents of drug addicts who love their children, in spite of their addiction.
