Growing up, I was a night owl. Refused to go to sleep at 9pm, despite that being my bedtime. My dad used to come into my room from when I was young. We played this game where I’d draw letters on his back and he had to spell out the words I was spelling. He used to enjoy my back scratches and in return, I’d steal his chain, I hate people unicorn shirt with 2 special rings on it. When he unexpectedly died from routine surgery last May, my Mother wore the chain and rings for a couple weeks. Until one day the chain just randomly snapped from around her neck, and broke. I got to wear one of the rings on my wedding day, 11 months later.
My father was so loving and compassionate. He took me on his lap and read to me . . . the Funnies from the Sunday Newspaper were a special treat. He sang old songs to me and danced with me standing on his shoe tops. Every Saturday when he got off work early, he always brought me a treat. I have so many many more wonderful memories of my daddy . . . I can’t begin to tell them all. He was a very special daddy.
