Nebula is already a prominent female character and really the one who “defeats” Thanos before Adam Warlock escorts his soul to Infinity Watch. Stack on the suspicious timing of only a year after DC had a hit superhero movie with a female lead, and this whole thing just feels forced. I just don’t like how they’re shoving her into the Avengers Universe to be like their savior. Would be nice if they didn’t use the original Capt Marvel’s origin for Carol Danvers. She has her own origin of how she got to be Captain Marvel. But its Disney so I shouldnt expect anything else.If I remember correctly (its been a while since I read the Death of Capt Marvel GN) the Original Capt Marvel wasnt killed by Thanos. He had cancer from using his powers and died because of it. I’m talking about girl Captain Marvel, when she dies while fighting alongside Warlock to kill Thanos. Before Death revives him, where we see him after the credits of Captain America Reportedly the MCU has a completely different origin for her. She’s apparently now Half-Kree and raised on Earth. After establishing her military career as a pilot her alien blood somehow kicks in and she ends up leaving Earth to join them in their battle against the Skrull. It’s all set in the 90’s and will explain why she’s absent on Earth this last 20 years. It’ll be her friendship she establishes with Fury that makes her his Hail Mary, and likely she is the reason for him not leaving Shield. High likelihood only the after-credits scene will be set in Infinity War, likely she’ll see the people and her other allies around her disappear and then the call comes in.
