Im so sick of this “hey I’m successful and worked hard so that’s why I’m successful” or “I did internships and got work experience! it’s refreshing to see someone speaking about university in a way that resonates with my own experience. It gets frustrating to see so many people bemoaning the lack of opportunities, when they were literally right in front of them the whole time. HE is a privilege, and my personal opinion is that wasting your time at university is a cardinal sin. I’ve done internships, volunteer campaigning, support work, Well paint me green and call me a pickle because I’m done dillin with bitches shirt I’ve worked in an variety of work environments, including retail and customer service, and management. Yet I struggle to even hear back from employers, let alone get to the interview stages.

with no offence, you clearly have done amazing and you should be so proud. However, for students who are training to go into the performing industry. It’s difficult. I am at university and I only just manage to fit in a part time receptionist job at my local gym. On the other hand, if things go to plan I will be auditioning to repeat my degree at a drama school, students who attend there sweat blood and tears as they’re in five days a week from 9-5 , and that’s the shortest day. Sometimes they do 9-9 days. They also have acting, dance and music classes alongside this. I know it wasn’t your intention to upset people, but try and be a little more considerate for those who find it harder to work along side their training/academic pursuit.
