I’ll take it a step further and say that my daughter, when I stay out of the way, does better at her task at hand than she would if I was trying to show her how to do it. I agree with this one hundred percent. If you provide unconditional love for your child they will be bold and brave and try new things and ultimately find a path in life that makes them feel truly happy and fulfilled. It will be their own path. It might be what others think is “ordinary” or it might be extraordinary. Just a good mom with a hood playlist shirt Either way they will have true inner peace and confidence. They won’t need to please anyone or gain false or fleeting outside approval. I see this with the families I spend my days with who “unschool” their children. Their kids are well adjusted and happy and all find a path in life.
Teachers told my child that he had learning disability and needed special school needs , I told him that he is a genius. It is a schooling system what makes our kids average people preparing them to work in service industry. After few attempts into marine engineering program ( he could give up , but as parents , we keep supporting ..and push) he got there and become one of the best student. It’s so true! I’ve learned this recently myself….the harsh truth is no one really loves anyone unconditionally, even parents to their children. This is a hard truth to swallow…but it’s true…and I try (really hard, taking small steps) to love my kids for who they are and not what I or the family expected them to be and I’m ok with being ordinary…I’m an average, ordinary person…so I try not to expect my children to be what i couldn’t be
