Lonesome Dove is epic. Not very often that many stars have came together to film a mini series. In the last 30 years I have read my copy of the novel so many times it’s held together with duct tape. I’m proud to say that I shared my passion for it to my 22 year old son and he and I quote it to each other all the time Lonesome Dove was one of those shows you think about Lonesome dove 30th anniversary 1989-2019 signatures shirt and talk about for years. The cast could not have been better. One of the best shows on television of all time to me. Read the book, it is great. The bull fighting the bear wasn’t in the show.

I first saw it when I was about six years old years ago. And I absolutely fell in love with it. So much so that had to took a weekend off just to drive from Colorado to Montana. Unbelievable that bull and bear fight would of been awesome, but, it would of probably been difficult to do, as there weren’t as many trained grizzlies then as now, I met the guys who trained the bear for the Brad Pitt movie, can’t remember the name…..and my friend works on the show Yellowstone , as a sound technician, and knows those guys. I love the whole series…Dead Mans Walk, Comanche Moon, Lonesome Dove, and Streets of Laredo. Gus and Woodrow has a true friendship and sense of duty. It’s nice to watch how that developed. Leave out Return to Lonesome Dove…not part of the Larry McMurtry series.
