I think everyone’s response (minus the racist) is that this takes place in India, where girls are raped everyday in less “ideal” situations than this (ideal based on rapist standards). This isn’t 1980’s first world. This is India, where women and children are raped and town councils deem it acceptable, where men take it upon themselves to harm females simply because they can.
