If only we could bottle the fortitude of people like this young man. Some are dealt a bad hand and it destroys them, others endure and come out ok, and some, like him, thrive against the adversity. It amazes me that such a young man, having lost everything, can pursue a bigger life with such vigour. Idk why so many young people find his work interesting or whatever, he was a very weak philosopher, i mean his work only makes some real sense if it is read as a polemic with Hegel or i should say Hegelian philosophy And that’s it, he of course fails in his attempt to subvert the Hegelian dialectic, the only idea of his that i think has some merit and is important to keep in mind is his way of questioning the dialectic to show
that if you are not careful, and if you don’t examine all arguments equally, you fall in the trap of “conclusions come first”. Imo this is an omnipresent danger for philosophers, many times they already know which conclusions they want to reach when “exploring “ their arguments. So they become biased to their own ideas and the dialectic becomes a kind of post hoc method of justification. So Soren asks the question “are you really drawing conclusions from arguments? Or arguments from conclusions?” And that is it. Everything else he wrote is more or less worthless, or should i say-it should be considered worthless, but for some reason adolescents and young people from western countries still buy his crap. God please stop and read some Hegel, it will do your brain some good trust me!
