I too lost both parents at a young age, my father at 7 and my mother at 13, both had terminal illnesses. We had a very loving stable family before they passed. I had no siblings, so I guess I was an orphan, but never considered myself one. I luckily had support from friends and family. It is amazing the strength we can find inside ourselves when we are put into a situation where we have to find it. It has also taught me to value all the people I do have in my life since I am very aware they might not be there one day.

When you’re given only two choices: find a way to keep going or give up, the former is what people often choose, because it’s almost not even a choice if you want to have any kind of life. Even in your situation, where you’ve faced things most people don’t ever have to. Good for you You are an incredible inspiration to anyone. Your parents would be so proud of you.
