Every ingredient is also used in Northern Mexican cuisine. Being that Texas was part of Mexico and the original Mexicans that lived here where norteños. i moved to Texas a few years ago and even nice establishments with traditional plates serve Tex mex garbage. They can’t escape queso, shredded yellow cheese and cheap sauces. They take wonderful traditional plates and transform them into something that is no longer authentic. Keep in mind that although the ingredients are from Mexico, the style is eaten from Northern Mexico all the way up to Canada. Even though nachos were invented in Mexico, they’re considered to be a Tex-Mex food and not Mexican. The popularity of the dish, which the ingredients were simply tortillas, cheese and jalapeños, had spread throughout Texas and the southwestern region of the U.SOr may be its the moles they are ruining in Puebla and Oaxaca when they squirt them with their mild sauce that comes in packets with cheeky comments. Oh…. wait I know, its all those aguas frescas they sabotaged with the Mountain Dew baja they carried over the south border for that sole purpose.
