I kinda love this book. That’s why I’m obsessed says, it’s how the book is written. Not sure why you’re so convinced that they’ll be aiming for a PG-13, but the horror was never about the children dying. Knowing a character will survive doesn’t make it any less scary. You say you know the story but it doesn’t seem like it. “The child that dies won’t be a fleshed out character the audience is meant to develop an attachment to” Halloween pug pennywise shirt doesn’t seem like you’ve seen or read it. Like many other people have commented on this thread, nothing, absolutely nothing will ever compare to the novel.

If you don’t believe me, then read it. The made-for-tv movie back in the 80’s was epic, only because Tim Curry played Pennywise. I liked it a lot, but for those who know and loved the novel, it was a big let-down in many ways. One of the things about this movie coming out, that kind of rubbed me the wrong way, is the time period it’s set in. This looks to be the 1970’s or perhaps the early 80’s.
