This looks okay, but more because it has that “stranger things” 1980’s vibe, the clown does just look like the cliché “killer clown” though. Also, because they are kids, you know no one will die, censors wouldn’t allow that these days, and they will aim for a PG13 rating… Halloween pennywise and jeep shirt so going in with that knowledge, suspense and tension go right out the window. I know that happens in the story. What I’m saying is as the film progresses, with a PG13 rating and a leading cast of children. No one is truly in any danver or peril.

The child that does at the start wont be a fleshed out character the audience us meant to develop an attachment to, it will be to set up the threat being the clown, so the audience is aware of what the kids are afraid of. But as I said…every kid will make it to the end and Pennywise will vanish into oblivion…only to “jump scare” the audience at the end, teasing “oh pennywise isn’t dead? he is still alive? I wonder if they will make a sequel?” that’s how Steven King wrote the book. Read it. It will actually blow your mind.
