Must be a New York thing. I literally just moved here and I’d say 9 out of every 10 people dont show kindness. But I’ve heard how the city can be so I take it with a grain of salt especially since I can be a billion times more rude if I wanted to be. But recently I’ve found a lot of inner peace in a lot of things Best friends for life all i need is love and a cat quilt that are happening to me currently so I just dont have time to soak up the negativity. I’ve always been friendly but on a shallow level for much of my life.

I was a “girl” so I was supposed to be likable and pleasant. I made it work for me for many years. When I hit my mid-late 50’s I realized I was not really connecting. I started making more of an effort to make eye contact and to genuinely smile at people I encountered. Its made a huge impact on me. Its easy to be negative when life and the world are so complicated. However, making that effort has changed my life. Children have a magical way of helping people heal.
