Star Trek was big on TV in the 60s and 70s.. our good friends were true trekkies.. when Nate Johnson was a baby our free time was spent with the Heuckers watching Star Trek. Hard to fathom that this is still popular after all these years… but it was amazing… I remember watching Star Trek in my footie pajamas, and growing up teaching myself how to raise one eyebrow and give the Vulcan hand salutation. I wanted so badly for the Enterprise to hit a time warp, pick me up, and take me all over the galaxy. I also had a huge crush on Spock, Yoda star wars lightsaber and the lord of the rings shirt for which I credit a life of chasing emotionally unavailable men. Live long and prosper! The recent films are quite awesome. They took the technology of today that was futuristic back then, and stretched into the tech of tomorrow. And for those that complain about ‘realism’ GEEZZE its SCI FI (that stands for science and fiction), so get over it and enjoy the story for a change. If you want reality, go watch the NASA channel, and see where things are now. Then be amazed by how many Star Trek tech, is now common place.

I like Star Trek. I really do. I am just disapointed be the shadow that was caused by the CBS and Paramount and their stance against Axanar and fan films in general. But still, for the better or for the worse, I will always like Star Trek. It’s stories, it’ messages and it’s ideas. So… happy 50th anniversary I have loved Star Trek for as long as I can remember. I’m 55 so I’ve been watching from the beginning. My dad got me hooked because he always watched the show every week. Love all of them! the Original series is the best though. 50 years of Trek and they only show 3 movies, granted 2 of them were the best ones, and beyond well I don’t what that is but they put star trek in the name. I’d love to see an awesome compilation of parts from all the movies and shows (prime universe please!) Star trek is much more than Kirk and spock and the enterprise.
