yes, kinda funny, for the first 5 seconds. But imagine being the little kid on the receiving end of “Intense mom” 50 times a day. Is it any wonder that a kid would learn to ignore/tune out/work around a mom like this? They’d have to, as a defense mechanism. Also, this kind of energy doesn’t come across as someone who’s in charge, but as someone who’s not, and is freaking out about it. Why not just be calm, say what you mean and mean what you say, and simply follow through? Yes, patience is tested sometimes, but it’s amazing how well kids will listen and do as they are asked, (often the first time), more often than not. I’m not trying to be “holier than thou” here— just offering some real results that are happening with a calmer, kinder, no-nonsense attitude. We’re all trying to make better humans, here, right? Why not start by being one ourselves?
