the issue with the klingons never quite bothered me once I thought about it. We never really got to see what they looked like before they messed with the eugenics from the lost earth ships during the Eugenics wars before Khan and his followers had left. I have not felt the shock of unexpected tears since Data died like I did at the end of the trailer. I remember 17 years ago leaving Nemesis in shock and saying don’t cry don’t cry to myself til I got to the car. It out of nowhere hit me again today. but I agree! Ever since Enterprise most of the newer Trek movies have focused on the past. We finally get a show that’s in the “present” timeline. This gives the show more liberty to add new characters, species, and technology without having to worry about messing up with the canon, timeline or accuracy of the trek world and characters in general. Although, I have to say he and Janeway were two very different people. It would have been interesting to see how he would have handled the Delta Quadrant with Enterprise instead of Voyager handling it.
