Overall, your post gave me lots to think about. Just thought I would share my thoughts. I worked for several black executives during my career and hold them in high esteem. I don’t like to see them or others shortchanged. What about the flip side…. do the minorities behave in speech and mannerisms of subtle racist behaviour towards whites? But white people have the majority of economic and political power his this country, so we have to own the racism around us. It was built for us by the forefathers. Why is it just white people who are racist? In all of my 31 years I have heard racist remarks and actions from all walks of life, not just “white people”. Which in of itself is a generalization and categorizing a large group of people from varying nations and cultures. It groups people together and says we are all one with one belief. That in of itself is racist. Not one single nation, culture, religious affiliation, or otherwise has ever been free of racism. Whether to or from. This broad approach that only a certain type of “group” can be racist is in of itself racist.
