I still remember around the time my dad stopped tucking me and my sister in, when I asked mum why he wasn’t doing it anymore, she’s said it’s because we’re grown up and too old for that (I would have been in my early teens I reckon). It’s also around the time I stopped feeling close to him. One of my fondest memorises from early childhood is that our dad used to check upon us everynight in our bedroom. Tucking us in bed, ensuring the mosquito nets were up and light off for a sound sleep. He was a good father My son does the same thing with me. We call it story time. The stories are usually something from my childhood, or stories about him when he was a baby. It really does help him sleep quicker.
