He was such a great example for my baseball playing sons to follow. I had a chance to thank him several years ago at a meet and greet. Too bad more professional athletes now aren’t like him. The reason I became a Braves fan. I was a Reds fan, but also a card collector. After a game in Cincy I was lucky to meet him. Shook my hand, signed all my cards, and talked to me about baseball for about 10 minutes. That was 35 years ago. I was 8. Been a Braves fan ever since. the Murph is the face of the Braves.
