Stop No, it did not. It showed a character react to his situation over a few days. Go back and look at how many days those episodes actually encompass. It’s not a lot. He acted consistently throughout those episodes. And the epilogue bit convinced me that at least, inwardly, he knew how his actions were affecting El and the people around him.

Maybe you’d become a bit psycho too if you had to fight against demon monsters while trying to find lost kids, and after losing his own kid. What, you expect him to be the perfect level headed person right through the whole series? They didn’t ruin the character. They took him to his natural conclusion. He never quit drinking. He never dealt with his feelings. His insecurities drove the actions. And at the end, he exploded, metaphorically and literally. It was actually quite logical. Im curious, did you watch the season at all? The said they portal had been opened in Hawkins and Russia….you can say hes possibly elsewhere, ok…but where then? We only know of two places its been opened.
