Fans of Christmas movies, rejoice! A revolutionary new channel will be available to UK residents that will broadcast your favorite Christmas movies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The channel will debut on September 23 and will continue until January, featuring some of the most popular holiday films such as Home Alone, The Polar Express, and Elf.
This September a new Christmas movie channel will debut airing holiday films
It will be free to air and available on Freeview, Sky, Virgin Media, and Freesat during the festive season, temporarily replacing the GREAT! movies classic. The Christmas Sitters, Beaus of Holly, Call Me Claus with Whoopi Goldberg, A Husband for Christmas, and Crazy for Christmas will all premiere on the channel as well. You may get a head start on the holiday season by tuning in starting in late September, with the movies wrapping up on January 4, 2022. Last year, the film Home Alone celebrated its 30th anniversary, and director Chris Columbus spoke to Insider about the famous mirror scene in which Macaulay Culkin’s character demonstrates his daily routine in the mirror.
“It was kind of [improvised] on set, because he wasn’t supposed to do it,” Columbus remarked of the famed scene. Most people move their hands as soon as they place something on their face that burns. So, when you pat your face, move your hands, and yell, that was my instruction to him. He kept his hands on his cheeks on the first take, I believe. “We did it a couple more takes with his hands off his face, but my editor, Raja Gosnell, chopped that take into the first cut that I saw and it was in there forever,” she said. It’s funny how the iconic scene from Home Alone happened by chance.”
