Fashion and art are two concepts that always go hand in hand. Sometimes a haute couture garment can be considered an art when it is hand-sewn, meticulous, and takes hundreds of hours to make. Works of art can be brought to fashion, when photographed and reproduced on fabrics with modern fabric printing technology. Galleries and museums are also great places to present collections.
The passionate art collector when fashion and art match
The inspiration that connects fashion and art is also the idea behind The Passionate Art Collector by photographer JK Wong and stylist Joaquin Aristides Flores. Model Sarah Gullixson transforms into an avid photo collector. The works she collects are not the only art in this collection. Her makeup, hairstyle and styling can also be called art.
According to photographer JK Wong, this is an extremely sophisticated set of photos to make. In order to convey the connection between fashion and art, she had to hunt down many photography studios and galleries to find the right location. Besides, the abstract artwork used for the photo shoot weighs up to 80kg, so it takes a lot of effort to arrange them.
MOUNTAIN ANGELS WALKING IN THE TATRA NATIONAL PARK, POLAND
Poland has the famous national reserve Tatra National Park. This is where photographer Aga Wojtuń made the winter photography of Mountain Angels. The majestic scenery, the snow-capped peaks and the frozen lake create a sense of connecting people with the fairyland.
Tatra National Park in Polish is Tatrzański Park Narodowy. This is a national park in the Tatra Mountains, south-central Poland. The unique landscape of this region makes people think they are in a fairyland. The fairy beauty where people get close to the angels inspired photographer Aga Wojtuń.
He told Harper’s Bazaar: “It took me three years to prepare for this shoot. The rugged high mountains are not the ideal environment for photography. The weather is extreme and changing like a kaleidoscope. To take pictures in Tatra National Park, it is very difficult to get a permit. After a lot of waiting, winter has given us a golden opportunity to create this set of photos.”
In the sub-zero cold, the team had to carry machinery and tools up the mountain. The first section to Tatra National Park can be reached by mountain train. After getting off the terminal station, they still have to climb a difficult mountain road to reach the point with the majestic and heavenly scenery.
The entire travel time for each up or down the mountain takes two and a half hours. Together with two models Agnes and Gabriela, Aga Wojtuń and her teammates created a beautiful set of Mountain Angels . For them, this trip is truly an unforgettable memory.
