Launched in 2002, Tambour is a testament to the French fashion house’s desire to conquer and set new limits on the world map of the watchmaking industry.
Born two decades ago, the bronze named Tambour has created a legend. Described as “innovative and daring” Tambour watches are at first glance recognizable by their drum-like shape. This masterpiece paved the way for later Louis Vuitton watch collections for both men and women.
Over time, the Tambour watch has become an icon of Louis Vuitton watches. Each Tambour watch has a different way of expressing time, but keeping true to the brand’s DNA: the cult of the art of travel, bold creativity, technological innovation, and superior craftsmanship.
To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the Tambour line of watches, La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton has created a limited edition: the Tambour Twenty is only 200 pieces in the world. This is a watch that converges all the iconic codes of the Tambour line of watches. “It also brings together completely new features to make it unique for collectors,” added Jean Arnault, Louis Vuitton Watch Development and Marketing Manager.
Designed by Gae Aulenti, this watch features an automatic movement developed exclusively by IWC. The case is crafted from 18-carat yellow gold, and 10 features are placed around the central axis such as automatic rewinding time, moon phase, GMT,
This is the first automatic GMT Tambour watch. It has a stainless steel case with a diameter of 39.5mm. Self-winding movement GMT, ETA 2893.
This automatic chronograph features a stainless steel case, and a diameter of 41.5mm, and the LV277 high-frequency movement is COSC certified, Switzerland’s most prestigious quality control label.
A highly complex timepiece, researched and crafted by the artisans of Louis Vuitton’s La Fabrique du Temps workshop. The Tambour Minute Repeater has an audio function to indicate the original time zone, in addition to the time displayed on the dial. The LV178 movement is hand-wound.
The LV97 movement was developed entirely by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton. The watch is made of 160 components, seemingly emerging from the middle of a 41mm platinum case. At 6 o’clock, the flying tourbillon is housed in the shape of a Monogram flower. True to its tradition of personalization, Louis Vuitton offers the only model on the market with a customizable flying tourbillon.
On the 10th anniversary of its patent, the Spin Time watch is refreshed with time-display blocks that seem to float in mid-air. It has a 45mm diameter, self-winding LV88 movement developed by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton.
This revolutionary display dive watch won the Diver’s Watch award at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2021. 44mm stainless steel case, ETA 2895 self-winding movement, water resistance up to 100 meters.
An artistic wonder on the wrist, the Tambour Carpe Diem embodies the pinnacle of Louis Vuitton’s engineering and craftsmanship. The watch has a rose gold case, size 46.8mm with many super complicated but delicate features such as: Jumping time, a retrograde calendar. The Tambour Carpe Diem received the Audacity award at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2021. The LV525 manual-winding movement was developed by the La Fabrique du Temps workshop.
This is the third generation of smartwatches from Louis Vuitton. On the bezel are 24 Monogram patterned LEDs. An operating system designed by Louis Vuitton, offering exclusive dials and features inspired by the brand’s art of travel.
