This Sabres organization is truly a joke. I will never be a Sabres fan again after these last 10 years. Painful to watch on and off the ice and now they are calling up Amerks players? Where was this in December when the slide started? Why weren’t guys like CJ Smith and Olaffson given more of a chance over the scrubs they have on that team. It makes no sense to be doing this when Amerks are in a division race and fighting for home ice. Botterill, use some common sense. Amerks have been so hot, their is no point with this call up and screwing up Wills potential and possibly costing the Amerks the playoffs
While the argument for experience/audition etc. can be made why would you disrupt the chemistry of a team pushing for 1st place and a deep run into the playoffs? Did the same thing last year and we never truly got back on track and were eliminated in the 1st round of the playoffs. Amerks will continue to grind just disappointing to see management step in and screw up a good thing Totally understand but the Sabres season is effectively over – we have a chance to hoist hardware. Just my opinion – nothing to gain this late in the season for the Sabres. Love them both, just frustrating for a team that is still playing for something. If the move was just for a simple hey lets see what this kid has I’d be concerned too but it’s because of injuries/illness. Can’t do much about that stuff.
