I can’t with this movie. I want to like it, because its Lion King… But no. The animated one is so good and the characters are so vibrant… The lying king mirror mirror on the wall who created me after all the lion king shirt Based on this trailer, they lose most of the wonderful expression that they had. agreed, it looks so dark and dreary, plus for me it’s the little things, it’s all animated we know that why not add the head swing in and keep it as close to original as possible?

agree plus the voices don’t match the characters either the only one that comes back as the original is James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Jimmy Irons should have been Scar again too. I’ll see it once but nothing beats the original I think my husband said it best, what made the cartoon what it was was all the color. This is just so bland and colorless. It’s lacking all the colors of Africa that were so vibrant in the animated film (especially during the songs). The lying king mirror mirror on the wall who created me after all the lion king shirt Scar had that black mane that distinguished him, and now he looks so plain.  I’m holding out hope that it will be good, because I did like Favreau’s version of The Jungle Book, but so far it looks visually dull in comparison due to the muted color scheme.

not to mention how vibrant the colors are in the animated movie giving a very distinct visual style. I get that it’s not ‘realistic’ but the colors in the new one just look so muted, to me it feels like some of the magic of the original has already been lost just based on visuals At the end of the day, the films will be made because they bring in a LOT of money, and whether you like them or not, they are already done and Disney is gonna make millions. So, although some of these movies are considered classics, the bottom-line is money will drive the production. Enjoy them….or not. I see what you mean. There was a very creative use of colour in the original that they are not going to use this time because they want more natural and real colours. Sadly I think that means it will lose some of its brightness and vibrancy. However, I think having everything look more real, will give it a different vibrancy. I say give it a go and see what you think. You will never lose your love of the original.
