because I wanted to see the opening scene on the larger screen OMG!! This was fantastically excellent!! The closest remake to the original animated classic. The whole “lack of emotion” thing didn’t bother me but I understand why it would for some people. Yes some scenes could have been improved but overall the score was outstanding and it brought me back to my childhood. This is my favourite movie and I’ve been looking forward to this remake for three years. It didn’t disappoint. I’ve already booked my ticket for round two. animals can still emote without dramatic expressions though. Don’t get me wrong – I adored the film!! However, something as simple at Simba pulling back his ears, maybe the slightest whites of his eyes showing panic, fear, and sorrow after Mufasa’s death would have been SO much more powerful while still being loyal to their realism aspect.
