We lay with our kids each night. I’m usually with our 4 yo daughter and my partner with our boys, but sometimes one of the boys comes with me. We read to them and lay with them until they’re asleep. I sing to my daughter after stories just like I did with my oldest (14 yo daughter). Sometimes bedtime is crazy Pray like nehemiah obey like daniel lead like moses serve like martha love like mary shirt but I see how fast it goes when I look at my oldest My parents were never very loving and my childhood was highly dysfunctional, so I try to do the things I wished my parents had done with and for me with my own children This makes me feel sad because my Dad is like a lion. I don’t remember he even held my hands when I was even kid let’s talking of a hug or tuck.

I just love this picture! The fierce, wise, knowing look in the dad’s eyes. The innocent, proud, happy look on the son’s face. May your lives be filled with love and may you have each other for a long time. And I’m sorry it’s so cold even in June! My folks split when I was three back in ’61. Divorce was rarer back then and most kids saw their dads on Sundays only. Then my father moved away so we so him even less. He died in ’67. I still miss that I missed out on this I do that with my daughter every single night. It help both of us to fall asleep, and to build her self esteem!!! If you are a parent, and have the chance to do this, take it!! You’ll regret afterwards if you don’t.
