how does that sound like socialism? So if I invite a lot of people to hear me speak, Jesus it’s not religion it’s a relationship shirt and I feed them while we are out there (far from anywhere where they can get food as they would), that makes me a socialist? Lol that’s goofy, buddy, sorry.

I think your thinking is right in that as Christians we are to share with those in need. But socialism is not voluntary. It involves the taking of one man’s goods at gun point (the power of the state) and giving them to someone else. Ultimately when we all get paid the same no matter how hard we work, some will slack off knowing they will get the same pay no matter Jesus it’s not religion it’s a relationship shirt how much they work. Then the hard working people see the slackers and say, why should I work so hard when these people are just freeloading. Eventually productivity takes a huge hit while the government bureaucracies consume a huge amount inefficiently distributing everything. Voila you have Venezuela.

Pure socialism and pure capitalism do not work. that’s why we need a mixture. I don’t think any one wants pure socialism. Like free school that’s socialism and the US has it. Now we need the free health care so people can stop being afraid to go to doctors. we have many socialist programs. so it is possible to take the good from many sicial and economic systems and employ them without taking the entire system. why do we keep protecting those that screw us and demean our fellow members of society who work hard but get nowhere. Social programs are not necessarily socialist programs. They have to meet certain aspects in order for them to be socialist. Only the VA would qualify as socialist, and it isn’t working.
