Everyone wants and needs love and acceptance. When you hold on so tightly to the bad stuff, it leaves no room for the good stuff to find its way in. Her anger is only hurting herself at this point. She doesn’t have to forget or forgive. She just needs to let go and be free. No, she didn’t ask for it. But I think that’s because she doesn’t seem to understand that there is a way through this. And there is. She just needs to free up some of her mental real estate. When you lived abuse like that, you can’t ‘just get over it’, put it behind you and move on. That’s what PTSD entails. It is literally the inability to forget and to move on.
so she should be in a relationship just because you think that’s what everyone needs/wants?.. it is completely possible to fill the need for companionship without tying yourself down to another person. there are plenty of people out there leaving perfectly fulfilling lives without being in a relationship just like there are plenty of people who are fulfilled by their relationships.. but the point is it’s for each person to decide what’s the best life for themselves.Just because she hasn’t been able to change this mental state she’s in, doesn’t mean she doesn’t understand. I think she understands it very well.
