Sheesh, guys. Why make all of these weird, negative, incorrect assumptions and run with that, when it’s so easy to assume the best, or assume nothing and take a comment at face value? The thought of me being with someone who would not talk to her about her life or would tell either of us to perform niceness for the comfort of creeps is amusing.

Being groped, harassed, followed, etc are unfortunately not as rare as they should be and just like I wear my seatbelt in every car ride despite never being in an accident, I take my headphones out (not just wearing them and leaving music off) if I am in a sketchy place. Obviously, you can and should do whatever you need to for yourself, Some pharmacy technicians cuss too much it’s me I’m some pharmacy technicians shirt but my preference is to have full access to my hearing and signal to potential predators that I am alert and paying attention. I suppose my comment hasn’t been here that long, so maybe some of these people will come back to respond. Maybe something like “oh, my bad, I guess I did get carried away.” You know, how people on the internet admit they’re overreacting?

I totally agree with you (and I’m a conventionally attractive woman, so apparently I have the right to speak). Sure, there are some creeps out there. Some. Most people are actually nice and worth having a conversation with. To limit yourself and your world so much because ‘creeps’… I don’t know when some women became so obsessed with that. I’ve had hundreds of great and sweet and interesting and fascinating conversations with strangers all over the world because I was open to that (and sometimes when I didn’t feel like chatting I put in my headphones).
