They ignored Halloween 2 because Carpenter hates that movie. He tried killing Michael Myers so no other sequels would happen and it didn’t work. He only agreed to come onto this movie because he liked the idea the writers had of a direct follow up to the original. Picks up where part 1 left off 40 yrs ago. Only thing is they tweaked the ending of the first in this movie, Horror movie characters yuengling lager by america’s oldest brewery halloween shirt saying he was shot by Loomis and taken into custody, but as we all know, when Loomis looked out the window at the front yard below, Michael was gone. It a a sequel to the 1978 version …
Part 2-resurraction storyline will not play a role in this movie so the one question is john Josh harnet character is he being erased or is the girl his daughter interesting. Wonder what Carpenter did for that they are changing the entire storyline. I love the original it is still one of my favorite horror movies ever made and I don’t like that they are changing it, but I will still watch it. The granddaughter says the brother thing was something people made up. No mention in the first movie about him being her brother…that didn’t come until 2, which is being ignored. This is a direct sequel to only the first movie.
