What Are the Different Flag Types?
Decorative flags are divided into two categories:
Printed

What Are the Different Flag Fabric Types?

Polyester in its most basic form
Standard Polyester is weather-resistant, fade-resistant, and long-lasting, but it’s supple enough to drape well and move in the breeze. This fabric is less likely to fuzze than thick polyester. What Should I Do With My Flag?
Taking down your flag daily after the sun sets and during harsh weather can extend its life greatly! Keeping Your Flag Clean Regular washing of outdoor flags to remove dirt, dust, and other contaminants will keep these contaminants from becoming embedded in the fabric. Cleaning your flags properly can help them retain their fresh, vibrant colours and extend their life.
DO NOT MACHINE WASH, as this can cause fabric to wear out and colours to fade. Hand wash in cool water with a light detergent. Allowing the flag to sit in soapy water for an extended amount of time can cause bleeding or colour run. After washing, rinse away all of the detergent with cold water and allow clothes air dry entirely.
DON’T USE THE DRYER TO DRY YOUR FLAGS. If you bleach or dry clean your flags, the fibres or colours will be permanently damaged. Flags do not need to be ironed in general. If you want to iron your flag, don’t use a hot iron directly on it. On the back of the flag, use a warm iron on a low heat setting.
FLAGS SHOULD NOT BE FOLDED, ROLLED UP, OR STORED WHEN WET. Dampness can cause mildew, mould, or fungus, as well as discoloration and damage to your flag. Before folding or storing your flag, be sure it is thoroughly dry.
Store the flag in a cool, dry, and dark location once it has completely dried. To keep your ornamental flags safe, use a flag storage organiser.
Strong Winds, Storms, Heavy Rains, Snowfall, and Hailstorms: We strongly advise you to take down your outdoor flags during unusually harsh weather conditions such as high winds, storms, heavy rains, snowfall, and hailstorms, as these can damage or accelerate flag wear.
Flags become heavier as they become wet, and high wind on large flags will stretch the fabric and stitching, speeding up the deterioration. We strongly advise that you take down your flags at night during adverse weather seasons, as such situations may otherwise go overlooked.
Tips for Maintenance and Repair: Timely stitching saves nine! Minor tears or damages to the ends of your flag, if left ignored, might result in irreversible harm to your flag. Check the “fly” end of your flag (the end furthest from the pole) for indications of wear and tear on a regular basis. Trimming and re-hemming small tears or thread breaks in the ends is a simple remedy. Hand-stitched or machine-stitched tears can be repaired.
