Cavs Strike Back, Series with Celtics Heats Up

Game 2 saw the Cleveland Cavaliers respond forcefully, overcoming the Boston Celtics 118-94 to square the Eastern Conference semi-final series. Although the Cavaliers’ impressive road performance points to a very contested series ahead, the Celtics are still the favorites.

The changes made by Cavs coach J.B. Bickerstaff after Game 1 worked incredibly well. In addition to getting a big boost from their bench, the Cavaliers tightened up their perimeter defense, limiting the Celtics to only 8 of 35 three-point tries.

With 29 points and 8 assists, Donovan Mitchell led the Cavaliers and displayed his ability to make plays in addition to his scoring skills. Young players Darius Garland (four three-pointers) and Evan Mobley (21 points, 10 rebounds) were also instrumental in the win.

Known for their tenacity, the Celtics will need to gather themselves before traveling to Cleveland for a crucial Game 3. The series will certainly be tough on May 11th, when the Cavaliers host their home fans, tipping off at 8:30 p.m.
