I lost my older sister almost 21 years ago to Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She was 17 years old, and died 2 weeks shy of her HS graduation. You are so right! My daughter was 13 and my son was 11 when we got the news our daughter needed a bone marrow transplant. My son was a perfect match. We were all so happy but what that meant for him was so scary. He of course was happy he could save his sister but he was scared. I would stay with our daughter at the hospital during the week and come home for a night to be with him. There were nights he would call me in he middle of the night sobbing! He was scared all the time.
