Tom Cruise Steals the Show at Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony with Death-Defying Stunts

Tom Cruise, who is known for pushing the envelope in action movies, once again dazzled audiences with a stunning array of feats at the Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony, setting the stage for an incredible transition to the Los Angeles Games in 2028.

With H.E.R. on guitar, the Top Gun: Maverick star set the tone for an incredible evening by zip-lining into the Stade de France stadium to start his performance.

After making a spectacular debut, Cruise accepted the Olympic flag from gymnastics sensation Simone Biles and moved fluidly into a sequence of pre-recorded scenes showcasing his daring feats. The Red Hot Chili Peppers from Los Angeles caught him skydiving out of a plane after he rode a motorcycle through the streets of Paris.

His audacious feat continued when he scaled the famous Hollywood sign, went through the hills of Los Angeles and changed the “O” into an Olympic ring. After that, the flag was carried by several Olympians until it arrived at Venice Beach.

First up was Red Hot Chili Peppers with their hit song “Can’t Stop,” followed by Billie Eilish with “Birds of a Feather.” The beach was transformed into a performance venue. As an Olympic enthusiast himself, Snoop Dogg wowed the crowd with hits like “Drop It Like It’s Hot” and “The Next Episode,” and he even surprised everyone by having Dr. Dre make an appearance.

Throughout the Olympics, Cruise was noticed at several events, including Simone Biles’ incredible gymnastics performance.

Even though Cruise doesn’t often appear on television, fans of his on-screen daredevilry are not surprised by his Olympic accomplishments. Cruise’s dedication to pulling off his stunts is legendary; he has scaled the Burj Khalifa and executed a HALO leap in the Mission: Impossible series.

Cruise’s next endeavors should be equally exciting. The eighth Mission: Impossible movie, which he is not yet sure of the title of, will be out in 2025. A space-filmed film with NASA and a possible partnership with Birdman filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu are also in the works. His next ventures are much more anticipated in light of the possibility of a third Top Gun movie.
