To clarify the context within my own head, I meant that those slave owners (often) viewed them as mistresses – therefore, in their minds they were fooling themselves that they were treating those women acceptably. Like today’s racists with black “friends” are another instance of self-delusion. It’s hardly friendship if you’ll be racist behind their back. If you’re a white straight male you are at the top of the list when it comes to getting what you want, Vintage super daddio shirt I’m not sure what planet you’re living on. If you’re a minority or gay or not Christian you are at the bottom. doesn’t change the fact that despite having the qualifications as a white you can’t get anywhere, that the biggest amount of unemployed people in UK are young straight white males and that this in fact, is racism on an institutional level.
most companies, at least in Europe, have to pay fines if they don’t meet equality quotas. And for a non white straight male employee they will actually get government money. It has gotten to a point where you can have a university degree, but nobody will take you because of your skin colour. So I’m one of those white people that has many black, poc, & indigenous friends & coworkers, even a romantic relationship or two.. so I’m curious (& very concerned..) with what might cause you to believe someone like me, could be unknowingly racist? Having said that, personally I’ve never felt it should be necessary, nor do I like to have to clarify my race, or that of another, in conversation.. I just don’t see that anyone’s skin color, or ethnicity has anything to do with “who” my friends or loved ones are.. I honestly feel I’m “colorblind” when it comes to meeting & acquainting myself with people.
