I’m glad Opeth left them and signed with Nuclear Blast. Much more creative freedom under NB. did take a different direction mainly because of those reasons but I wouldn’t say Skull slayer all over printed hoodie I was disappointed in any way. It’s not like they went into rap or K-pop or something XD They did something different and they pulled it off spectacularly.

And this slight change in their music might as well help them gain a much larger following and eventually act as a gateway to heavier stuff for some. I’d say it’s a win-win situation. Every band should have their creative freedom and experiment with their sound. And if they change things around and still produce something as good as Gojira did, it just shows their diversity as artists. 001 – 2100 is the 21st century. Let’s wait until it has passed before you make claims. Slipknot is a great band but their sound is always different. Not always for the better. I think slayer had always stayed true.
