We were always together and there was no need to use cell phones to call each other-like ever, but then I took a job in a different city, so now we only see each other about 8x/mo…. parrot flowers funky full printing hawaiian shirt we resorted to just texting each other, but I told him you know what, I need to hear your voice now because I don’t see you as often… it took him quite some time to figure out to quit that bullcrap texting and actually spend time with me over the phone. I remember calling him for two days and just getting texts at first, but he finally picked up the phone. It was pretty awkward at first, because idk, we suck at making phone calls and aren’t used to it LOL, but we bond so much better now and he always calls me.
same thing happened to me. We grew apart after nine years of marriage. We were just room mates I’m afraid that’s were we are headed. Especially when we become empty nesters. I hold back myself because he can’t express what doesn’t come natural for him. Also, not everyone is self aware enough to be able to articulate to themselves exactly what they want. All they know is they’re unhappy and can’t see how to fix it. I disagree. I don’t think you have to speak the same language to be able to have a happy relationship with someone. I think it’s important to talk. You can tell each other what you need. You can learn to speak each other’s language. That’s how you serve. You learn to communicate. You learn to read them.
