(If a bunt/steal was on, who was next up? Could he get the guy in from second with 2 outs?) if the runner just stands on first Rizzo tags him out before stepping on first to get the force the batter. As soon as that bunt hit the turf first base is no longer a safe zone for the runner because of the force play behind him. Drew if he would have tagged the runner first…then he’s out…but he touch the bag first which eliminates the force, and then first base can be be “re-occupied” by the original base runner. Its a bang bang play and the run got caught in no mans land.
