I won’t be apart of continuing racist snide remarks toward any race. I won’t allow my children to be apart of it either. It starts with us and we have to teach our children so that it stops. Math that’s where I draw the line shirt Isn’t it funny how some people act like they’re not racist when they face the confrontation? Or act like they are when they really should have evolved by now… it’s 20 fucking 16 already.
Math that’s where I draw the line shirt
When it stops becoming socially acceptable to speak like that, people will stop doing it. And the next generation will not learn what they don’t see or hear. Speak up if you hear stupid racist comments or jokes. They’re not funny or harmless. As a black person, I know this happens and it’s hard to be open to people when it’s known that behind your back, they may say things they wouldn’t say to your face. Math that’s where I draw the line shirt Or that they are ok with being in the presence of those that act this way and don’t call them out on their behavior. The harm to this is, ideas and notions about a group of people gets passed down passively. They don’t notice their own bias/bigotrt but it shows up in little actions like hiring, trusting the guy walking down the street, just small things. And those environmental influences get passed down.
And on the opposite side of the spectrum I react to this, black people have a reaction to this. Bigotry isn’t that easy to get rid of. If it was then, the gentleman that talked to a black guy, was friendly with him would not go back and still say racist jokes or refer to black people as a whole in a racist manner, this would stop, once they’ve been friendly and got to know him as a person. But it doesn’t stop. That one black person becomes an anomaly, a one time wonder. Honestly, it’s hard to just be OK with this, and walk through life in the United States of America and act like the 7% of people I look like, aren’t hated. If white people are honest or if America was honest, they probably have this 80% in their lives. And only a small few push back when they hear it.
