After the debacle that was #3 and SONY meddling in it and basically destroying what could have been a good movie I doubt the #4 would have been anything worth seeing. Having to sit through ANOTHER movie where he’s sleep-walking through his performance would’ve probably put me to sleep.

Honestly, I don’t get why people hate on Andrew Garfield or Tom Holland as Peter Parker. They’re both amazing and channel the character of Spider-Man perfectly, better than Zombie Maguire This was by far the best Spiderman franchise and a 4th or even 5th installment would have been great to see. It captured each characted brilliantly and they grew film by film. It’s a shame that this never got made or that Tobey Maguire didn’t wish to continue in the role. I miss this franchise. The original Spiderman comics, Peter Parker was a nerdy, insecure teenager. The films in that franchise were very true to that. Clearly you’re either talking about earlier editions or a different character.

I think you may well need to read some comics. you do realize that Peter acts nothing like his alter-ego at all, and he does so with purpose, right? Peter did act like a nerd all the way into college. He kept his personality as Peter completely separate from Spidey so as not to raise suspicion to his dual identity. Maybe it’s time YOU read a comic. If you Haven’t read any of the Amazing Spider-Man comics with art by Ditko or Romita Sr., you don’t know squat about high school aged Spider-Man. The first one was really good…then to me it was like Marvel just said …oh hell, just produce anything and they will watch it! I think that when mcguire got on the sauce, it really started messing up the movies. He was drunk in many of the scenes (as was Daniel Radcliffe in later harry potter movies…random thought). Spidey was one of my favorite characters in comics as a kid. I would love to see them do him justice!
