There can be black people that are prejudiced toward white people and it’s more common than I think people would like to admit, whether it be from someone with authority or someone that isn’t, it doesn’t make it right to be be racist, racially prejudiced, generalizing a race, because in the end. What people of our race do, does not represent any of us. We’re all individuals, just because Tyrese robs a store don’t mean all blacks robbing stores, I am lucky son because I’m raised by a freaking awesome mom shirt just because Johnathon shot up a school don’t mean all whites shooting up schools. The part of the article about listening i can get behind. If white and black people have any hope of coming together en masse it has to start there.
I can’t understand what it means to live as a black man in America because I’ve never experienced it first hand, i respect that part of the message and it did make me think. That being said, it goes both ways. All the talk of “white privilege ” diminishes the struggles individual white people face in their lives. A lot of us have lived poor, been surrounded by drugs and crime and have struggled in times in our lives. I will say this again because they don’t teach history anymore. Over 700,000 americans killed .Atlanta Richmond Columbia burned to the ground . Southern property and agriculture laid to waste from Atlanta to Savannah to Richmond. Southern wealth and a whole generation of men destroyed. All to free the slaves. I think their generation have already paid a price.
