You weren’t turned down because of your illness, you were turned down because of your ability to still work. If you can sit in a ticket booth taking tickets, that’s work and they won’t find you disabled if you can do any type of work. I did 3 appeals and had 5 dr notes and i finally won.. took me from aug 2013 to feb 21, 2017 and then the real stress of waiting 6-10 months before any pay… i got the senators office involved and governor, Fibromyalgia awareness sugar skull fairy fight like a girl shirt and social services and medicare and i called everyday sometimes twice a day.. apparently they think we live free .. and its still not over, i had crooked attys and im fighting that now too. Good luck but word of advice— let your voice be heard. Get the politicians involved and call them daily and dont let up! I got my money 3 months earlier by doing this.
I am blessed to have supportive family and friends. I have major pains daily and praise the Lord for His guidance and work giving me the endurance to cook for my family even though I am exhausted. Thanking everyone for their prayers, a wonderful son who massages me daily, and friends who bring me food when I have to stay in bed. I will pray for those who suffer with this ailment too! I’m one of the rare occasions of men with fibromyalgia! I hate it! I have osteoarthritis, sciatica, and varicose veins. I’m only 36 and have had it since I was about 18. It seems to get worst as I get older and make it very difficult to perform daily task. I could only hope that the leading country in the world would one day lead in recognizing fibromyalgia as disability and help accommodate needs such as treatments and maintenance.
